This work was developed as participant of PANOPLYLAB’s The Ivory Tower and Open Worlds performance conference at Brick Theater, NY.

A 3hr durational performance, Pyramidal transit into the fog of Garden whispers//ACTS & SHOUTS (2022) used sound, visual, and material transmissions to continually generate and propose ideas that is then effected through the filters of the audience gaze, the performer’s body as conductor, and site as reflector. The performance took place on a plot of soil to use as an energetic conduit and will expand to encircling the performance site–allowing for the audience to choose whether to be inside or outside it. Through live instrumentation and vocal deformations, use of storytelling, myth building and memory, the space was used to transform/expand/deconstruct self agency, authority, historical narratives, and power structures interrogated in real time ~ an experimentation to use the projections and experiences of present audiences as material layered over personal and collective Black narratives, media, knowledge, and source.
